Today some friends and I went to the Botanical Garden's Butterfly Show. What a magical treat. We saw the most beautiful butterflies and moths that you can imagine....one moth that is huge, I mean at least 10 inches across that has wings that look like snake heads. Amazing. It only lives for 6 days, has no mouth so it cannot eat and only lives to replicate. I can't imagine. I think it was called an Atlas moth and was from South America. At least it wouldn't eat your sweaters! I will have some pictures to post soon. It was the most fantastical thing to have these huge butterflies flying all over in a conservatory that had every kind of exotic plant in the world growing in it and the humidity was 100%. There is also a stream full of fish flowing throughout and simply amazing. The next event is the Japanese Garden and there is a restaurant there that I want to go to. So restful and beautiful the Botanical Gardens are. I have completed two shirts for my Civil War teacher and hope to have pictures of him in both outfits to post as well....so I have been busy, even though I haven't posted anything lately. Hugs to all, Melissa

Never be afraid to try something new. Remember that a lone amateur built the Ark.
And a large group of professionals built the Titanic.
I remember those days all too well... my daughter is in her 3rd year of college now and though she lives on campus it's local and she still keeps me hopping! It's no problem... whenever you get around to it.

Oh man, I have persuaded my daughter to go to Univ. of North Texas, which is about 30 minutes from our house because she is so paranoid about being out on her own. I think it will be good for her, but she is still scared. At least she has the comfort of knowing she can come home whenever she wants. I feel for her, I remember being that age and how hard it was to leave home :sniff: But I think she will do well, she's a smart cookie.

My daughter was pretty much the same... she is my only child and I thought it would be good for her to live on campus. Social interaction is very important and she never had much of that at home with siblings or kids her own age. Her school is just about 25 minutes from home and she comes home most weekends but also works near the school. Not having her own car yet is what keeps me running. :)

Hey, at least she's driving! I've been saving an old 1990 Caddy for her to drive (it's a boat!) but the traffic around here is so bad that she is afraid to drive. So this summer I am going to enroll her in private driving lessons (I don't have the stamina to do it!) Otherwise, I'll be in the same boat as you! Now, I have a 15 year old son that will be bugging me to drive the minute he can. I hate the thought of that, considering how brash young men drive! Oh well, I guess I will live through it all!

When I make settlement for the accident I was in I'll get my daughter her own car. Maybe then I'll get to use mine on the weekends! I taught her to drive and that's a surprise cause I don't even like being a passenger with an experienced driver let alone with someone learning. Years ago my wife got private lessons because I was just a bundle of nerves trying to teach her. :giggle:

You'll survive! It's something you just have to accept. Most drivers were a lot less "all about me" when I learned to drive. Nowadays it seems like everyone on the road thinks only about themselves. I used to really enjoy driving now it's just a means of getting from place to place.
